Petroleum Ministry supports home-made oil industry hardware

He made the remarks after a visit to factories affiliated to the Petroleum Equipment Industries Company. 

Moqaddam said that Ministry of Petroleum is busy with a project to indigenize manufacture of 10 groups of goods and maximum use of the capacity of domestic oil equipment manufacturers, according to IRNA.

He said that about 20 years ago, Iranian manufacturers were not capable of manufacturing many oil industry equipment and the country used to buy hardware from the foreign producers, but, now the country is capable of producing them and has reached a satisfactory status in that regard.

He noted that it is a source of honor that Iranian manufacturers are capable of producing hardware and software that are both qualitatively and quantitatively competitive with that of the foreigners.
