Zangeneh: Iran, Kenya willing to develop oil products trade

EghtesadOnline: Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said on Sunday that Iran and Kenya can cooperate on oil products trade in the wake of lifting the sanctions on oil industry.

He made the remarks after a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya Justin Muturi.

Zangeneh said that cooperation with Africa is one of priorities of Iran's foreign policy, according to IRNA.

He further noted that the two states have already reached certain agreements but a small number of them have been implemented.

Zangeneh said that lifting the sanctions paved the way for boosting economic cooperation.

Meanwhile, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani told a press conference with Muturi that they discussed ways to develop cooperation in various fields such as economy, agriculture, industry oil and gas and medical and pharmaceutical industry.

Given Kenya's interest to promote ties with Iran, arrangements have been made for negotiations with the Kenyan delegation of Iranian ministers in a bid to promote economic ties, he said.

Located in eastern Asia, Kenya is customer of Iran with importing several Iranian oil shipments last year.
