Veep: Growth in Iran's tourism industry a mechanism to get rid of single product economy

Jahangiri made the remark in the International Conference of 'Tourism Industry Investment Opportunities with an approach of resistance economy,' in Tehran.
Jahangiri added that tourism is one of the most important fields and effective element in inter-cultural communication and its development will play basic role in promotion of understanding on the national, regional and global levels.
The Veep said that when globalization gets more complicated and more up-to-date dimensions, tourism, in spite of its old background will find new outlooks, meaning and mechanisms, according to IRNA.
He added that modern tourism as an industry needs establishment of new hardware and software infrastructures and foreign, internal investments.
Jahangiri said that tourism could work in different dimensions as cultural and historical, economic and trade, science and research, health and treatment, vocational and recreational, which are all important and effective and need investment and planning.
The conference kicked off here on Sunday morning in presence of the First Vice-President Es'haq Jahangiri, Vice-President and head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar and Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi and a number of officials and foreign and domestic investors.
