President joins mourning processions on Ashura
EghtesadOnline: President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday went to the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdolazim (AS) in Shahr-e Rey, southern Tehran, to join mourning processions on Ashura.
Shia Muslims mourn every year on Ashura, the tenth day of lunar month of Muharram, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the third Shia Imam, reports IRNA .
President Rouhani was accompanied by Chief of Staff of Presidential Office Mohammad Nahavandian, Tehran Governor-General Hossein Hashemi and Shahr-e Rey Governor Hedayatollah Jamalipour.
