Zarif: Iran, EU should remove obstacles for expansion of ties
EghtesadOnline: Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that obstacles in the way of expansion of ties between Iran and European Union should be removed and that the longstanding ties must not be influenced by the other states.
Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with EU Commissioner for Industry and entrepreneurship Ms. Elzbieta Bienkowska.
He said that Iranian relations with EU should not be affected by the other governments, according to IRNA.
Zarif said that role of EU in optimum use of the post-sanctions era is very important.
Zarif said that there are different fields for cooperation between public and private sectors of Iran and EU.
Elzbieta Bienkowska underlined expansion of cooperation between EU and Iran in different fields.
She said that more European citizens are interested in Iran tourism and that tourism is one of the best fields for cooperation.
She said that EU is planning for a long term partnership with Iran and believes that grounds for economic cooperation should be prepared promptly.
Bienkowska also met with Vice-President and head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar on Tuesday.
She said that Iran is becoming a tourist hub for the European tourists, calling for easy visa formality for the Europeans to visit Iran.
