Iran, Ukraine to broaden parliamentary ties
EghtesadOnline: Iranian and Ukranian officials in a meeting on Friday stressed the importance of boosting parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The meeting, held in the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev, was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour and Head of Ukraine's Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs Anna Gopko.
The Ukrainian official, in the meeting, said her country is ready to exchange parliamentary delegations with Iran, adding the parliament of Ukraine supports strengthening of ties with Iran.
According to IRNA, Ukrainian parliament will plan for removing the obstacles to that end, she noted.
For his part, the Iranian diplomat said there are many grounds for fostering bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Kiev.
Rahimpour further described the future of bilateral ties as positive, adding the two can expand relations in the areas of agriculture, energy, transportation and tourism.
Rahimpour, whose three-day visit to Ukraine ended on October 28, underlined the importance of exchange of views between the two countries' parliamentarians.
In Ukraine, Iran's Rahimpour held talks with a number of top officials in that country and reviewed ways to widen bilateral cooperation.
