Iran, Russia cooperation in fight against extremism savior of the world: Diplomat
EghtesadOnline: Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ibrahim Rahimpour said that cooperation between Iran and Russia is now savior of the world against extremism in the region.
He made the remarks here on Thursday in 'Iran-Russia Day' meeting on the sidelines of the 8th International Aviation Exhibition of Iran in Persian Gulf island of Kish, IRNA reported.
Rahimpour said that Iran and Russia cooperation for confrontation against terrorism, which has 10 countries as supporters, saved the world and 60 states.
He added that world is strongly concerned about terrorism in the region and Iran-Russia cooperation play important role in regional security.
Presidents of the two countries have met eight times in the past 3 years and the 9th meeting is preparing now, the senior diplomat said.
He said presence of Russian fighter Sukhoi in this exhibition has symbolic and special meaning that these planes connected Persian Gulf, Caspian Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
The 8th International Aviation Exhibition of Iran kicked off on Wednesday November 16 and will last until November 19, 2016 in Kish Island.
