'Baran', Iranian film to be screened in Pakistan
EghtesadOnline: An Iranian classic film 'Baran' directed by Majid Majidi will be screened in Pakistan on December 17.
'Mandwa Film Club' is organizing the film screening at 'Pakistan National Institute for Folk and Traditional Heritage' (Lok Virsa) Library in Islamabad.
Bollywood films used to be popular in Pakistan but after the ban on Indian content because of tension with India. Pakistani cinemas are looking for foreign content especially the Iranian films, IRNA reported.
Baran is a 2001 Iranian film directed by Majid Majidi, based on an original script by Majid Majidi.
'Baran' is the story of Afghan refugees told through the eyes of an Iranian teenage boy named 'Lateef'.
His devotion to a person he barely knows leads him to the choice that will change his life forever.
Baran won a number of awards both nationally and internationally for the director and writer Majid Majidi.
Last week an Iranian film festival was organized by Rawalpindi Arts Council with the collaboration of Cultural Centre of Iran.
During the three-day festival famous Iranian films were shown.
Earlier, award winning Iranian 'A Separation' was also shown by the Mandwa Film Club in Islamabad.
