Indonesian president: New era ushers in ties with Iran
EghtesadOnline: Indonesian President Joko Widodo has said that a new era has ushered in relations with Iran, as it was agreed with President Rouhani to raise value of exchanges to two billion dollars from the current $280 million.
According to the website of the Indonesian foreign ministry, the President made the remarks in a meeting with the Indonesian expatriates in Iran late on Wednesday.
During the meeting, he added that Tehran and Jakarta will make investments in both countries, IRNA reported.
He further noted that the Indonesian state-owned oil Pertamina will invest in the management of oil fields in February 2017 while Iran will set up a high-capacity power plant as well as a refinery in Indonesia.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrived in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon at the head of a high ranking delegation.
Indonesian politico-economic senior officials were accompanying President Widodo who held talks with President Hassan Rouhani and Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani during his two-day official visit in Iran.
He left Tehran for Jakarta late on Wednesday.
