Iran, Arabs share abundant cultural commonalties
EghtesadOnline: Chancellor of Allameh Tabatabaei University, Hossein Salimi, said on Sunday that Iran and Arab world share plenty of useful cultural and religious commonalties.
Salimi made the remarks in the meeting of International Media and Cultural Dialogue between Iran and the Arab Nations here on Sunday.
Regarding importance of safeguarding cultural identity of countries, Salimi said safeguarding the cultural identity returns to interaction between politics and culture, IRNA reported.
He said cultural elements start growing when getting detached from politics.
He added that cultural interaction between Iran and the Arab world was started when Ottoman Empire was born and this phenomenon took place when world had become bipolar.
In the new era, traditions lose their hue and color and undergo drastic changes. The era is called 'The Era of Communication and Information Explosion' .
The era has caused cultural elements reach a more constructive convergence, facilitating exchange of information.
Iran and Arab countries are taking advantage of around 1400 years of religious and cultural commonalties and a big part of people's culture and language has been mixed with each other and in that direction academics may take effective steps for permanent cultural promotion.
