Cars with Iranian number plates allowed in Iraq

Nowadays, on the streets of Karbala and other holy cities in Iraq, cars can be seen having Iranian number plates.

These cars have been allowed into Iraq following the signing of an official memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two neighboring countries, according to IRNA.

Now, Iranian drivers who want to visit holy places in Iraq can freely enter the country in their vehicles after obtaining necessary permits from Iraqi officials. 

In case of any offences by the Iranian drivers, they will be dealt with based on the Iraqi terrific law.

Iraqi insurance companies will also provide insurance services for the cars originally registered in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
