Iranain chess players receive gold, bronze medals in Uzbekistan

EghtesadOnline: Iranian athletes received two gold and two bronze medals in Asian teens chess championship tournaments hosted by Uzbekistan after 9 rounds of contests in standard time control mode.

The tournaments started on March 31, in Tashkent the capital city of Uzbekistan with more than 400 Asian athletes in different age categories and the presence of 21 Iranian players in age categories ranging from U-8 to U-18.

According to IRNA, the tournaments consist of three time control modes which are Blitz, Standard, and Compensation.

Artin Ashraf in U-eight and Motahhare Assadi in U-14 won gold medals. Anahita Zahedifar in U-14 and Tannaz Azali in U-16 received bronze medals.

Iran’s representatives had already won two gold and two bronze medals in Compensation Mode. 

The Iranian teen athletes line up against other participants in Blitz Mode today which will be the end to this year’s competitions.
