Threefold Rise in East Azarbaijan FDI
EghtesadOnline: Foreign investment in East Azarbaijan Province saw a threefold rise to reach $30 million in the last Iranian year (March 2016-17) compared with the previous year, according to the northwestern province’s governorate.
The FDI is part of a total of $662 million worth of foreign investment projects approved by the government for the province last year, the governorate’s official website reported. Last year’s $30 million worth of FDI pertained to food, wood, auto, mining and textile industries. The governorate said East Azarbaijan aims to attract more investments in agriculture, fish farming and tourism sectors in the current Iranian year that started on March 20, according to Financial Tribune.
