Iran, Pakistan discuss ways to promote economic cooperation
EghtesadOnline: Officials of Iran and Pakistan discussed ways to further enhance economic ties between the two friendly countries ahead of the upcoming Joint Economic Commission meeting in Tehran.
Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost in a meeting with Humaira Ahmed, Additional Secretary Ministry of Finance, reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming 20th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting in Tehran, according to IRNA.
Both sides on the occasion discussed Free Trade Agreement (FTA), resumption of banking channels, joint energy projects and launching direct flights between Iran and Pakistan.
Expressing her views, Additional Secretary Humaira Ahmed reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to enhance economic cooperation with neighboring Iran, and said that soon a high-level Pakistani economic delegation will pay a visit to Iran in the coming days to participate in the 20th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting.
Since assuming charge as Iranian ambassador in December 2015, Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost has been very active to enhance economic ties between the two countries.
