Iran, Oman keen to cooperate on handicrafts, culural affairs

EghtesadOnline: Deputy Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Bahman Namvar-Motlaq discussed drafting cooperation agreements in the domain of handicrafts with the Head of Omani Organization of Handicrafts Aysheh Siyabieh on Thursday.

Namvar-Motlaq is in Oman to take part in the Conference ‘Investment in Culture’ and inaugurate the Exhibition of Iranian Handicrafts and Precious Rings.

During the meeting attended by Iran’s Cultural Attache in Muscat Bahman Akbari, the two officials underlined the need for producing joint documentaries on the two countries’ handicrafts and consolidating bilateral relations, IRNA reported.

Namvar-Motlaq also hailed the cultural model with a focus on Nowruz (Day marking Iranian New Year) put forward by his organization, as it was welcomed by the researchers attended in the conference. . 

If Iranian Nowruz and handicrafts are introduced better to the world, they will surely be welcomed, he said.

Referring to the significance of dialogue for strengthening ties, the Iranian official said, “Given the talks which took place during the conference, I got the impression that Arab world is a suitable opportunity for promoting tourism and handicrafts.”

Siyabieh, for her part, appreciated Iranian delegation’s presence in Oman, saying that the country is ready for forging deeper relations with Iran.
