Experts from FAO, five countries inspect afforestation plan in Regan
EghtesadOnline: Experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and five countries visited implementation process of JEF international project in the city of Regan, Kerman province.
Executive Director of JEF international project in Kerman Mohammad Amin Fasih-Zadeh told IRNA on Sunday that the project was jointly implemented by Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWMO) and FAO in Regan city five years ago and given its success the project was renewed for another 2 years, IRNA reported.
He said that the experts from Turkey, Iraq, Germany, Italy and Ghana have visited activities related to reviving demolished lands in participation of local societies and creation of minor jobs in Regan city.
Fasih-Zadeh added that JEF project has been recognized by FAO experts and this experience will be shared with other provinces and also other countries.
He pointed to the implementation of JEF international project in 53 villages of Regan city and in 247,000 hectares of lands in the city and its focus on people's participation.
Regan is facing many sandstorms and dust particles, so citizens are confronting many problems.
Regan is located 285 kilometers east of Kerman city, capital of mid-south province of Kerman.
