Official Stresses strategic role of Chabahr Port in exports
EghtesadOnline: Chabahar Port, as a logistic, oceanic and important highway of east corridor development, has a crucial role in exporting petrochemical products and steel, Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Ports and Maritime Behrooz Aqaee said.
“Chabahar has the best position in the region to link the regional countries and can lead to prosperity of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Aqaee said.
'Chabahar, due to its strategic position, can have a main role to reducing the cost of fueling the ships,' said Aqaee while pointing to Chabahar's priority in bunkering ships.
“The Panamax ocean liners can berth at Chabahar Port and also transport various products, including steel, petrochemical, and mineral products,' IRNA quoted him as saying.
Chabahar, the southernmost city of Iran, is the only oceanic port of the country located to the coast of the Gulf of Oman.
