Russian special envoy to Syria to visit Tehran

During the visit to Tehran, the high-ranking Russian official will meet Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani and Iranian deputy foreign minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari, ISNA reported.

During the previous visit to Tehran, Lavrentiev discussed the latest developments in Syria and the process of Astana Meeting with Shamkhani and Jaberi Ansari.

Lavrentiev and Jaberi Ansari are the chairmen of Russian and Iranian delegations to the Astana meeting.

The fifth round of the international meeting on settling the Syrian crisis in Astana is expected to be held on June 12-13.
