Impounded Smuggled Cars Not Sold to Iran's Foreign Ministry
EghtesadOnline: The managing director of Iran’s Confiscated Assets Organization says his organization has not sold impounded cars to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Amin Daliri said as per law, his organization is tasked to decide the fate of seized assets through either domestic sales, sales on the condition of export or demolition. The organization is ready to consider purchase offers from both public and private organizations when it is impossible to sell confiscated items in the domestic market, IRNA quoted him as saying. Thirteen smuggled luxury cars worth 140 billion rials ($3.78 million) were confiscated in Fars Province in the last fiscal that ended in March 2016, according to Financial Tribune.
