Iran Capital Market Penetration Rate at 40%
EghtesadOnline: With the number of investors in Iran’s capital market having crossed the 11-million mark, the market’s penetration rate reached 40%, meaning four out of 10 Iranians trade shares in the domestic stock market.
The total number of Iran’s equity traders, including shareholders and investment fund investors, stood at 11.2 million in the last fiscal year (March 2016-17), registering a 78% growth compared to the fiscal 2012-13, Bourse Press reported. The 11.2 million traders invested a total of 2 quadrillion rials ($53.59 billion) last year in Iran’s four exchanges, namely Tehran Stock Exchange, Iran Fara Bourse, Iran Mercantile Exchange and Iran Energy Exchange, indicating a 74% growth compared to the fiscal 2012-13, Financial Tribune reported.
