Hossein Naghavian Spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Parliament (Majlis) said Sunday the legislation is in the framework of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the major world powers, IRNA reported.

The nuclear deal has been safeguarded and no article in the anti-US legislation is in contradiction of the international deal, Naghavian said.

'The US is after imposing the cost of killing the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran,' he said.

This is while according the Member of Parliament, the UN nuclear watchdog, seven times, and the US government, two times, have officially confirmed that Iran has complied with its commitments, he added.

'Iran will never pay the price of violating the JCPOA,' Naghavian said

The legislation overwhelmingly ratified in Majlis is in retaliation for the US Senate bill known as Countering Iran's Destabilizing Activities Act, which includes anti-Iran non-nuclear sanctions.

According to the legislation, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Intelligence, as well as the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Quds Force, and the Islamic Republic Army are obliged to devise a comprehensive strategic plan to counter US threats and bullies in the region.
