10% Rise in Iranian Ports Throughput
EghtesadOnline: More than 144.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at major Iranian ports in the last Iranian year (March 2016-17), showing a 10% rise compared with the year before.
Of this amount, 99.1 million tons pertain to non-oil goods and 45.5 million tons to oil, according to the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's latest report. Non-oil exports via ports stood at 49.7 million tons last year, up 36% year-on-year. Imports of products other than crude oil stood at 33 million tons, showing a 1.4% YOY drop. The report measured throughput at the ports of Abadan, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar and Shahid Rajaee, according to Financial Tribune.
