Italian Firm to Set Up Factory in Chabahar
EghtesadOnline: Italian stoneworker Simec is establishing a stone processing factory in Chabahar Free Trade-Industrial Zone, managing director of the FTZ, Abdolrahim Kordi, has announced.
Simec and its partner in Iran, Tejarat Tat Mokran, have invested €39 million in the project.
According to Kordi, the factory will become operational in two years and will create 800 direct and indirect jobs, Financial Tribune reported.
Plans are to export processed Iranian stones from the factory to Persian Gulf littoral states, Central Asian countries, Russia and Europe, Minews reported.
Established in 1969, Simec is in the business of natural stone processing and machinery and plant manufacture, according to the company’s website.
