Armenia to Expand ICT Ties with Iran
EghtesdOnline: Telecom Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi conferred with his Armenian counterpart Vahan Martirosyan on the expansion of mutual ties.
The talks were held on the sidelines of a state visit to Tehran by Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan last week, the ICT ministry website reported.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed joint programs for the establishment of data centers, Financial Tribune reported.
Jahromi saaid, “Bilateral ties in the fields of data transit, cybersecurity, and postal services are to be strengthened.”
According to Martirosyan, the two sides will set up joint business conventions and ICT related marketplaces.
The Iranian minister invited his Armenian counterpart to visit the International Exhibition of Telecommunications slated for Oct. 16-19 in Tehran.
Iran and Armenia have friendly relations in various fields, including transportation, energy, agriculture, nanotechnology, and insurance.
On Monday, Karapetyan and Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri co-chaired a meeting of economic delegations, where three memorandums of understanding were signed in cultural, technological and veterinary fields.
