Kampala Hosts Iran-Uganda Business Forum

EghtesadOnline: The Ugandan capital city of Kampala hosted a business forum in the presence of Iranian Foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

“Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we have held Africa in high esteem. Africa is one of our priorities when it comes to economic cooperation,” the minister was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency at the event.

He added that Iran and Uganda’s interactions are deep-rooted and expressed interest in enhancing economic ties with the East African country in various areas of mutual interest.

Zarif is accompanying a politico-economic delegation to Africa comprised of business owners and representative of companies active in a wide range of fields, including agriculture, shipping, automotive and banking, Financial Tribune reported.

Uganda is the second leg of the Iranian delegation’s trip to Africa. South Africa was the first stop and Niger will be the last leg of the tour.
