Kupal to vie at Kolkata international film festival
EghtesadOnline: Iranian feature film “Kupal” written and directed by Kazem Mollaei will be screened as the sole representative of Iran’s cinema at the main competition section of the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival in India.
“Kupal” is going to compete with 13 other films from Canada, Germany, Italy, Iceland, Turkey, Bangladesh, Poland, Chile, Portuguese, Spain, Brazil, Hungary, and India.
“Kupal” which has recently won Best Film Award at Brasov Film Festival, tells the story of a hunter and taxidermist who goes through an unfortunate incident by trapping himself in his basement with little food and no water, having to survive by using creative and desperate means, ISNA reported.
The 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival will be held November 10-17, 2017 in Kolkata, India.
