Iran, Russia sign MoU on judicial cooperation

EghtesadOnline: The attorneys general of Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to step up judicial cooperation between the two countries.

The Attorney-General of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri, who is in Russia to hold bilateral talks and participate in the 15th session of Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, met with the Prosecutor-General of Russia Yury Chaika.

During the meeting, according to ISNA, both sides insisted on the development of bilateral and international judicial cooperation and examined the problems of convicts and their restoration.

The two attorneys general also agreed to cooperate and exchange experience in fighting against the crimes committed by using modern technology.

At the end of the meeting, a MoU on judicial cooperation was signed between Iranian and Russian Attorney-General’s offices.

The Conference of prosecutors general of SCO member states will be held on 28-30 November in St. Petersburg.
