2 More ATRs for Iran Air by Dec.
EghtesadOnline: Iran Air is expected to take delivery of two more ATR planes by the end of December.
The twin-engine turboprop, short-haul regional airliners are currently operating test flights by Iran Air’s crew in Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, local aviation media reported on Friday.
Farzaneh Sharafbafi, the CEO of Iran Air, is also expected to travel to Paris to take delivery of the two jets this week, sources in Iran Air told Financial Tribune.
Mehr News Agency reported on Friday that the two new ATR 72-600 planes will land in Tehran on December 30.
Iran Air signed a firm contract with ATR mid-April to purchase 20 of the planemaker’s regional aircraft, with the option of adding 20 more in the future.
So far, Iran Air has received six of the ordered aircraft. The Iranian flag carrier expects to receive the remaining 12 ATR 72-600s in 2018.
