According to Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news portal, the two sides also discussed collaborations in marine and road transportations, development of Isfahan and Mashhad airports, along with opportunities for French firms, to participate in the development of Imam Khomeini Airport City. In June and during the Iranian delegation’s travel to Paris, Iran and France Transport Ministers agreed to form a joint working group to speed up the implementation of deals reached between the two countries. French construction company Vinci SA began talks with Iran to develop Isfahan International Airport soon after the January 2016 implementation of the nuclear deal Iran signed with world powers in 2015. “Vinci will invest $120 million during 36 months to build a new terminal for Isfahan’s airport,” the airport’s CEO, Hassan Amjadi, told Financial Tribune in August, adding that a few issues need to be resolved before the contract with Vinci SA is signed, including problems pertaining to land ownership, Financial Tribune reported.
