SCI Puts Iran's Inflation at 8.2%
EghtesadOnline: The goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending Jan. 20, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Dey, increased by 8.2% compared with last year’s corresponding period, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
The inflation rate shows a 0.2% rise compared to the preceding month. SCI put urban inflation at 8.1%, up 0.3% month-on-month.
Rural inflation was put at 9.2%, which has remained unchanged compared to the previous month. The overall CPI (using the fiscal year to March 2017 as base year) stood at 110.9 in Dey, 110.8 for urban areas, indicating a 0.4% and 0.5% rise respectively.
CPI for rural areas was at 111—unchanged compared to the previous month. The year-on-year inflation increase was 8.5%. For urban and rural areas, it was at 8.5% and 8.2% respectively, Financial Tribune reported.
