Tehran-Ashgabat Business Forum Scheduled
EghtesadOnline: A joint business forum between traders of Iran and Turkmenistan is scheduled to be held concurrent with President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Ashgabat from March 26 to 29, the news portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported.
The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, the organizer of the forum, is calling on businesspeople eager to attend the event to contact TPO’s Bureau for Europe and America Affairs for more information.
According to Rahmatollah Khormali, commercial attaché of Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat, Iran exported over $400 million worth of commodities to Turkmenistan and imported $600 million in return during the 11 months to Feb. 19.
He made the statement during the closing ceremony of the 14th Iran Exclusive Exhibition in Turkmenistan’s capital on March 3, according to Financial Tribune.
The three-day exhibition was attended by over 60 Iranian companies in the fields of construction, oil & gas, petrochemical industry, technical and engineering services, food, irrigation systems and agriculture. Iran’s Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari visited Ashgabat on the occasion of the expo, and another joint business forum held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
