Rigan Khodro Eyes JMC Pickup for Production in Iran

EghtesadOnline: Rigan Khodro has imported a prototype of Tiger pickup trucks produced by the Chinese Jiangling Motors Corporation, as it is weighing the introduction of the model to the Iranian auto market.

A subsidiary of Kerman Automotive Industries Corporation (aka Kerman Khodro), Rigan Khodro is based in Arg-e Jadid Special Economic Zone in the southeastern province of Kerman where the completely knocked down kits brought from China are assembled, reported local automotive website Asbe Bokhar.  

The JMC Tiger pickup truck is currently going through technical and engineering inspections so as to obtain the required assembly permits. 

The model is powered by a 2.0L petrol engine producing 205 hp and 325 Nm. Its diesel-fueled model is equipped with a 2.4L engine generating 140 hp and 375 Nm. The gasoline-burning version will be put on the market in Iran. The model is also equipped with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox, with 2WD drivetrain, Financial Tribune reported.    

Its full-option model provides various comforts including power seat, monitor, 360-degree camera, power side-view mirrors, cruise control, push-button start, synthetic leather seat covers and electronic stability control. 

The Tiger pickup truck is sold at a price range of $19,900 to $26,100 on the global market. Rigan Khodro is yet to announce the price for the model.
