Hemmati Chairs Asian Re Meeting

During the organization’s 40th council meeting on 30 June 2017, Hemmati was reelected chairman for another two years. He has held the post for 16 years. Last week, Hemmati was appointed Iran’s ambassador to China, ILNA reported. Asian Re is an intergovernmental organization established in May 1979 under the auspices of UN-ESCAP.  Iran, China, Thailand, Philippines, Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Bangladesh are its regular members, according to Financial Tribune.  Associate members include companies from Thailand, Iran, India, Japan, UAE, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the website of the Asian organization said.
