Baghdad to Host Iranian Marketing Center
EghtesadOnline: A center dedicated to promoting the marketing and export of Iranian products and services will be launched in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad on July 15, Iran’s commercial attaché to Iraq said.
“The center, the first of its kind, is to be built in downtown Baghdad. It will be used as a platform to introduce 21 prioritized categories of Iranian commodities and services to the Iraqi market,” IRNA also quoted Nasser Behzad as saying.
The categories include infrastructural industrial products, electricity, knowledge-based services, oil and gas, construction, cattle and poultry feed, technical and engineering services, pharmaceuticals and laboratory supplies, plastic and petrochemical industries, medical and hospital equipment, dairy and beverages, machinery, water and sewage facilities, detergents, carpets, agricultural and food industries, cooling and heating systems, paints and resin, stone and ceramic tiles. Apart from introducing and displaying Iranian products, the center will be used to sell these commodities to the Iraqis. Behzad said easing goods clearance procedures, foregoing the registration of export companies active in the center, establishing an office without the need for permission from the Iraqi government, and the opportunity for traders and business owners to establish business-to-business communications with Iraqi state-owned companies are the main advantages of this center, according to Financial Tribune.
