Exporters Criticize Trade Directives
EghtesadOnline: Members of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture’s Export Promotion Commission recently met with President of Trade Promotion Organization Mojtaba Khosrotaj to voice exporters’ concerns.
The ICCIMA members complained over the lack of clarity in monetary directives and the government’s inability to disseminate information, the Persian economic newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
Adnan Mousapour, the head of the commission, called for the full exemption of the private sector merchants, responsible for 20% of the country’s exports, from all monetary directives, which request was accepted by Khosrotaj who also doubles as deputy industries minister.
Recent government directives attracted heavy criticism from private sector traders, particularly the directive that reduced the time allowed for exporters to return the revenues to the country from six to two months, Financial Tribune reported.
According to Mousapour, this time limit is impossible to uphold, considering the variety of products and destinations as well as money transfer issues.
