Iran: New FTZs, SEZs Okayed by Parliamentary Commission

EghtesadOnline: Majlis Economic Commission gave the nod to the establishment of eight new free trade zones and 13 special economic zones.

Ahmad Anaraki-Mohammadi, a legislator, made the announcement on Sunday, ILNA reported. 

The new FTZs include Incheh Borun in Golestan Province, Mehran FTZ in Ilam Province, Ardebil FTZ in Ardabil Province, Sistan FTZ in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, Baneh-Marivan in Kurdestan Province, Jask in Hormozgan Province, Bushehr FTZ in Bushehr Province and Qasr-e Shirin in Kermanshah Province. The term “special economic zone” is commonly used to refer to any modern zone where business and trade laws differ from those on the mainland, Financial Tribune reported.
