No Hitch in N. Gasoline Supply

EghtesadOnline: Due to overhaul operations in some refineries, gasoline output has reduced, but production will soon return to its previous level of 95 million liters per day, an official of National Iranian Oil Production and Distribution Company said.

“The supply of gasoline in northern Gilan and Mazandaran provinces is continuing normally and there are no worries,” Alireza Arman-Moqadam was also quoted as saying by Shana, the Oil Ministry’s news agency.

Rejecting speculations about plans to increase fuel price, the official asked people not to store the fuel at home. According to the official, the sudden rise in the number of travelers to the northern regions has coincided with the refineries’ overhaul and exacerbated the situation.

Shazand Oil Refinery in the central city of Arak, Markazi Province, Persian Gulf Star and Bandar Abbas refineries in the southern Hormozgan Province as well as Esfahan Oil Refining Company have limited  their premium gasoline output, which is marketed as “super”, according to Financial Tribune.

The gasoline is sold in major cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz and Mashhad. As there is only one pipeline to transfer the fuel to mega cities, refining complexes cannot transfer as much as they produce when there is a technical problem.
