Decline in Home Appliances Production
EghtesadOnline: Statistics released by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade show the domestic production of home appliances has declined.
About 296,500 washing machines were produced in Iran during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Oct. 22) to register a 38.2% decline compared with the similar period of last year.
A total of 394,200 televisions, 553,800 refrigerators and 528,400 evaporative coolers were manufactured over the six-month period, showing a 32.5%, 13.8% and 5.9% decline respectively year-on-year, IRNA reported.
Secretary-General of Iran’s Home Appliances Association Habibollah Ansari told Financial Tribune last year that the production of Iranian household appliances meets 70% of domestic demand, according to Financial Tribune.
