24% Growth in Iran's Lead, Zinc Ore Extractions

EghtesadOnline: Major Iranian lead and zinc producers extracted 884,478 tons of ores during the nine months to Dec. 21, which indicates a 24% rise in production compared with last year’s similar period, the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s latest report shows.

Angouran Lead and Zinc Complex accounted for 834,359 tons and Nakhlak Lead and Zinc Plant for 50,119 tons of the total output to register a 22% and 78% year-on-year growth rates respectively. 

The two producers extracted an aggregate of 928,932 tons of ores in the last fiscal year (March 2017-18).

Lead and zinc ore extractions during the ninth month (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) amounted to 69,301 tons, down 28% compared with last year’s similar month, according to Financial Tribune.

Angouran's output stood at 63,270 tons, down 31% YOY while Nakhlak extracted 6,031 tons, up 46% YOY.
