Technology Park Expansion in Sistan-Baluchestan
EghtesadOnline: In a move to expand the science and technology park in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, four new sections have been inaugurated and added to the park's already active sections.
According to the website of Iran’s Vice Presidential Office for Science and Technology, one of the new spaces will be allotted to animation and videogame developers, and the purpose of the remaining three is yet to be determined.
Farid Shahmoradi, an official in the tech park, said the managers are still pondering upon the function of new spaces, but the inaugurated parts will not only widen the working space offered to the tech units active in the park, but would also enable park managers to work on new categories and attract teams active in a wider range of fields.
Since its inauguration in 2012 in Zahedan, the provincial center of Sistan-Baluchestan, the park has been attracting and supporting tech units in the fields of new energies, mines and mineral products, agriculture and aquaculture, according to Financial Tribune.
According to the tech officials, a total of 43 science and technology parks are operating in the country.
The parks provide tech firms with financial support in the form of grants and loans, ease the issuance of permits and licenses, and extend professional mentorship to help firms attract investments.
