New Iran-Oman Flights to Be Launched
EghtesadOnline: Flights between Muscat, the capital of Oman, and Iran's renowned tourist destination city of Isfahan, in addition to those between Muscat and Lar, the capital of Larestan County in Fars Province, are scheduled to be launched in the current Iranian month (Dec. 22, 2019-Jan. 20, 2020), says former Iran’s commercial attaché to Oman, Abbas Abdolkhani.
According to the official, the flights will be operated by Taban Air.
He believes the launch of these flights will help develop business relations and health tourism between Iran and Oman—longstanding economic and political allies in the region, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran reported on its website.
Abdolkhani added that flights between Sohar—a port city on Oman’s northern coast—and Ahvaz, the capital of Iran's Khuzestan Province, are going to be launched by Qeshm Air in the Iranian month ending Feb. 20, 2020, according to Financial Tribune.
“With Iranians increasingly traveling to Oman for doing business and with more Omanis visiting Iran for health tourism, the number of travels between the two countries show an upward trend,” he said, adding that currently Oman Air, Salam Air, Kish Air, Qeshm Air and Aseman Airlines operate flights from Muscat to Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Kish and Chabahar.
Iranian citizens are granted 10- and 30-day visas at Muscat International Airport without delay. The visa period is extendable.
