New Year Perks Determined
EghtesadOnline: The Cabinet has set 12 million rials ($88.8) in annual perks for government employees and pensioners paid before the onset of the Iranian New Year with their salary for 11th month of the Iranian year (Jan. 21-Feb. 19), Mehdi Qamsarian, the spokesman of Plan and Budget Organization said.
This is while perks for private sector workers have been set at a minimum 30.34 million rials ($224.7) to register a 36.5% increase compared with last year’s sum, the Persian daily Iran reported.
Private sector employees received 22.2 million rials ($164) in the fiscal 2018-19 as perks, according to Financial Tribune.
Two years ago, i.e. fiscal 2017-18, the same employees received 18.59 million rials ($137.7) in perks.
The average annual inflation in Iran currently stands at 38.6%.
