TSE Bucks 11-Day Declining Trend

EghtesadOnline: Eking out small gains, Tehran Stock Market on Tuesday bucked a declining trend that lasted for 11 consecutive sessions.

Spurred by a price increase in a few large cap shares, the main gauge of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 4,635 points to climb 0.4%. 

Penny stocks closed mainly lukewarm as the equal-weighted index closed at the flatline. The index gives the same weight to all shares, irrespective of their market caps.

Base metal, refinery, steel and pharmaceutical stocks were the main gainers while auto, housing construction and bank stocks were among the losers of the day. 

Despite a hike in TSE's benchmark, the liquidity outflow continued for 13 sessions in a row with net capital outflow by retail investor amounting to 4.5 trillion rials ($21 million) on Tuesday.  

Share prices in 333 tickers declined for the day, representing 66% of the total tickers at TSE and the junior equity exchange, Iran Fara Bourse.  

 

 

TSE Trade 

About 5.8 billion shares valued at 54.81 trillion rials ($219.26 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Iran Alloy Steel Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.7% to 16,880 rials per share.

Pars Ceram Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 14.36% to 8,470 rials per share.

National Iranian Copper Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Social Security Investment Company, Iran Khodro Company and Tehran Oil Refining Company.

Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company and Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.

The Industry Index was up 5,619.12 points or 0.55% to register 1,034,762.52. The Free Float Index was up 3,376.10 points to hit 1,715,394.39.

TSE 30 went up 288.09 points to settle at 60,058.01 and TSE 50 ended 212.44 points higher to finish at 43,523.58.

 

 

IFB Up 0.32%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 54.13 points, or 0.32%, to close Tuesday trade at 16,979.88.

About 11.09 billion securities valued at 139.76 trillion rials ($559.03 million) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Esfahan Steel Company had the highest number of traded shares, as 118.65 million of its shares worth 463.08 billion rials ($1.85 million) were traded.

Pasargad Insurance Company, Esfahan Steel Company, Day Bank and Shiraz Oil Refining Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Zagros Petrochemical Company.
