Need for Insight, Patience and Perseverance to Confront Enemies
EghtesadOnline: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei underlined the need for insight, patience and perseverance as key requirements to counter the enemies of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which he described as the continuation of the path of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He made the remarks in a live address to the Iranian nation on Thursday, on the occasion of Eid al-Mab’ath, which marks the public proclamation of Muhammad (PBUH) as the prophet of Islam, Leader.ir reported.
“Insight means not misidentifying the right path and patience means endurance and insistence on following the right path,” he said.
According to Ayatollah Khamenei, it is essential to maintain a trend among the people to promote the two qualities, warning against the enemies’ plots to disrupt such a public trend.
He called on the youth, as “officers of the soft war”, to counter such efforts by using the opportunities of cyberspace to promote insight and perseverance, and create hope in the society.
“Distortion of realities is another strategy of the enemies in their soft war against the Islamic Revolution,” he added.
The leader pointed to the war in Yemen as an example, saying that the oppressed people of the Arab country have been under the bombardment and economic siege of the cruel Saudi government with the United States’ green light for the past six years, while no protest has been voiced by international organizations or western powers who make human rights claims.
“But now that the resourceful people of Yemen have built or prepared defensive equipment and are responding to the enemies’ attacks, there has been an outcry and censure even from the United Nations whose behavior is even worse than the United States’ measures,” he added.
According to Ayatollah Khamenei, possessing the world’s largest nuclear arsenal and claiming to be against weapons of mass destruction, supporting the Saudi government who cuts its opponents into pieces and claiming to stand up for human rights, and creating terrorist groups to enable the sale of Syrian oil and claiming to be fighting terrorism are among other instances of the US distortion of realities.
The Leader also pointed to the US fury over Iran’s regional presence, saying American officials often refer to it with hatred and resentment.
“Anywhere in the region the Islamic Republic has set foot, whether Syria or Iraq, it has been for defending the legitimate government of that country at the request and with the permission of that government in an advisory role, while the US has entered Iraq and Syria and built military bases with cruelty,” he said.
“The US must evacuate Iraq, as demanded by an Iraqi parliamentary law, as well as Syria as soon as possible.”
