Tehran Stocks Extend Losses

EghtesadOnline: Tehran stock prices plunged again on Sunday extending a losing streak that started in the middle of the last trading week.

The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX lost 11,692 points or 0.88% to retreat further to 1,310,877. The TSE’s equal-weighted index was down 1.06% indicating bigger losses in small caps. 

Retail trade declined 4% compared to the session before to reach 23.09 trillion rials ($82 million), accounting to 57% of the total trade.  

A total of 4.27 billion shares valued at 28.6 trillion rials ($102m) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Sahand Rubber Industries Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.86% to 31,530 rials per share.

Qazvin Sugar Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5% to 4,298 rials per share.

Pardis Petrochemical Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company and Chadormalu Mining And Industrial Company.

Pars Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tabriz Oil Refining Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and Barakat Pharmaceuticals Group Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 117.87 points or 0.66% to close Sunday trade at 17,871. About 1.73 billion shares and securities valued at 27.35 trillion rials ($97.7m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Pasargad Insurance Company, Iran Fara Bourse, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Negin Software Systems Development Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Saman Insurance Company, Ghasem Iran Company and Pakdis Company.
