Bushehr Ports’ Annual Throughput Tops 54m Tons
EghtesadOnline: A total of 54.4 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at Bushehr Province’s ports in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2023), registering an 18.1% rise compared with the similar period of last year, according to Mohammad Shakibi-Nasab, a local official.

Non-oil and oil goods accounted for 9.32 million tons and 45.07 million tons of the total throughput respectively.
The official noted that container unloading and loading stood at 206,094 TEUs during the period, registering a 5.3% rise, the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.
Bushehr Port’s throughput reached 3.9 million tons last year, of which 1.57 million tons belonged to oil goods and 2.43 million tons to non-oil goods. Container unloading and loading of this port hit 54,373 TEUs, registering a 50.4% increase.
Bushehr Province has a 937-kilometer coastline alongside the Persian Gulf and the main port facility in the province has the capacity to handle more than 7 million tons of goods per year and can host vessels of over 30,000 tons.
The port is capable of offering services for bulk, containerized, general and petrochemical cargos, refrigerated products, raw materials, storage and processing of various commodities and passengers, according to the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.
