Saudi Envoy Stresses Capacities for Promotion of Trade Ties with Iran
EghtesadOnline:Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Iran Abdullah bin Saud al-Anzi described Iran as a very important neighbor, adding that his country attaches great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic.
Speaking in his meeting with Chairman of the Iran Chamber of Guild Union Mojtaba Safaei on Sunday, the envoy said that the two countries have high potentials and capacities in all fields, especially in the fields of trade and economy.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a very important neighbor to Saudi Arabia and cooperation between the two countries will create a golden opportunity for doing business on an equal footing, Al-Anzi reiterated.
The chairman of Iran’s Chamber of Guild Union, for his part, pointed to the resumption of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia after a 7-year hiatus and said, “Presently, the private sector and economic activists of the country are keen to boost the level of their cooperation with Saudi Arabia.”
Handwoven carpets, bags, foot wares and leather products are currently produced in the country with the highest quality, and can compete with those made in European countries, Safaei said, adding that these products can enter the Saudi market.
In addition, Iran’s Chamber of Guild Union is ready to cooperate with Saudi Arabia in constructing hotels, shopping malls, etc, he said.
He called on responsible officials in the country to take effective steps in line with easing trade barriers between the two countries. /Tasnim
