Tehran, Yerevan to Cooperate in Constructing Norduz-Agarak Vehicular Bridge
The chief executive of the Iranian Company for Construction and Development of Transport Infrastructure (CDTIC) said that Iran and Armenia will cooperate in constructing the Norduz-Agarak vehicular bridge.
EghtesadOnline: Kheirollah Khademi made the comments in a meeting with the deputy minister of infrastructures and digital development of the Republic of Armenia at the 18th Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.
During the meeting, it was agreed that the two sides would embark on constructing the new vehicular bridge at Norduz-Agarak Border Terminal within one month after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Yerevan.
The 18th Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission was held with the participation of the chairmen of the joint commission of the two countries in line with developing economic cooperation including the development of the transportation infrastructures.
Reviewing the situation of the current cooperation and the prospects of the development of this cooperation in the future was the main aim of the joint commission, Iran’s deputy minister of roads stated, IRNA reported.
The development of the international transport corridors between the two countries especially the Iran-Armenia North-South Transport Corridor, construction of tunnels and technical infrastructures as well as exporting the technical-engineering services were among the main topics discussed in the commission.
Currently, the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is under construction in Armenia and Iran is designing the corridor for developing the transit of goods and passengers from the Persian Gulf to Georgia and the Black Sea region. / Tasnim
