Khorasan Razavi Province Boosting Energy Projects
EghtesadOnline: The Energy Ministry has 46 power, water and wastewater projects in cities and villages of Khorasan Razavi Province, the minister said Monday.

“With $1.5 billion investment, the projects have made   51% progress and most are expected to come on line by 2022,” Reza Ardakanian was quoted as saying by the ministry news portal Paven.

He made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of Zakariya 400kv power substation in Mashhad.

Another 400kv substation was launched in the holy city Mashhad on Monday at a cost of $7.7 million, according to Financial Tribune.

Thirteen other projects were launched Monday in different counties of the northeastern province and cost  $44 million.

Among the projects was the Abivard Dam in Dargaz County, costing $16.5 million, which will provide water to households, farms and industris in the region.

The diversion dam can hold 43 million cubic meters of water. It supplies water to 69,000 people in Dargaz, Lotfabad and Nokhandan cities plus rural areas to the south of the dam.

With the completion of a project to supply potable water to 30 villages in the province, 2,500 people in rural areas have now access to fresh water.

Another project was the wastewater network for the agro sector in Sabzevar County costing $1.7 million. 

The Energy Ministry has plans to inaugurate 227 power and water projects across Iran in the second half of the current year (Sept 2019-March 2020) with a total investment of 2.5 billion.
