Iran Summons EU3 Envoys over Stances on Anti-Israeli Operation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran summoned the ambassadors of the UK, France and Germany to Tehran over the “irresponsible stances” that a number of the European troika’s officials have adopted on Iran’s retaliatory attack on the Israeli regime’s military targets.

EghtesadOnline: In the early hours of Sunday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps carried out the punitive mission “Operation True Promise” in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus that claimed the lives of seven IRGC forces on April 1.

As a number of the British, French and German authorities have adopted “irresponsible stances” on Iran’s retaliatory response to the hostile Israeli attacks on Iran’s interests and nationals, the ambassadors of the three European states were summoned by the Foreign Ministry on Sunday.

The three ambassadors, who went to the Foreign Ministry separately, were reminded by the director general of the ministry’s West Europe department about the litany of the Israeli regime’s anti-human activities in violation of international law, the most recent case of which was the cowardly airstrike on Iran’s diplomatic mission in Damascus that resulted in the martyrdom of seven Iranian military advisors and a number of Syrian civilians.

The three envoys were told that Iran’s operation was in line with its inherent right to legitimate defense and in conformity with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations.

The Foreign Ministry official has also decried the European troika’s double standards on the Israeli regime’s fatal airstrike on Iran’s embassy, deploring them for condemning Iran’s move to exercise its inherent right to self-defense.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has proved with its constructive and effective measures that it has always sought to prevent an escalation of tensions through the employment of the possible capacities. However, if the Zionist regime’s adventurism goes on, it (Iran) will vigorously safeguard its sovereignty and the security and calm of its people in order to protect its legitimate interests against any aggressive military action and use of force,” the Iranian diplomat told the British, French and German envoys. / Tasnim
